Japan Day One- Hakone Peace Park in Gotemba

Located near Mount Fuji is this beautiful peace park full of breathtaking sculptures, shrines and temples. The walkway is surrounded by immaculate gardens, statues and even includes a koi pond.

People write their wishes on wooden charms

For 100 yen, you can get your fortune, however, no one is there to take your money, it is simply self serve. If your fortune indicates bad luck, you tie it onto this rack (shown above) to 'take away' the bad luck. Pretty cool, huh?
