Life in dot points

  • Received a phone call about my job application last Friday and I got the job! WOOHOO!!! Which means that:
  • I will be moving to Sydney early January, hopefully will find somewhere to live near work...
  • Need to learn how to drive in Sydney - I'm terrified after being used to massive and quiet Canberra roads, eep
  • What's with the crazy weather - one minute it's crazy hot 40+ degrees and then it's Winter all over again, Please make up your mind!
  • Contemplating cutting my hair really short, it's pretty long at the moment, but everytime I cut it short, I end up regretting it and growing it again. It's a vicious cycle!!! Hmmm what to do?
  • Went out for a lovely brunch at Du Jour at the Diamant Hotel this afternoon, pics to come shortly
  • Outfit of the day:

Alannah Hill coat
Minkpink singlet
Forever New Skirt

China Glaze polish in Caribbean Temptation *love*

So hello, Sydney! I'll be there in the new year!

Sammy's Kitchen, Canberra & Gourmet Traveller lemmings

Finishing a dentist appointment in the City and a quick as lightning lunch was in order due to the limited time left. Where else has super fast and efficient service guaranteed - A well known Canberra institution, Sammy's never seems to be in short supply of patrons, especially during the lunch time rush.

Always refreshing - coconut juice

Singapore noodles

Ipoh noodles - rice noodles with a mixture of beef, chicken, prawns, fish cake

Food is always consistently good, and comes out very quickly.

Browsing through my work colleagues never ending stash of magazines, and couldn't help but drool over all the Christmas goodies in this month's Gourmet Traveller:

This was from the request a recipe section - a dessert from Bather's Pavillion, YUM!

Recipes by Adriano Zumbo - pretty Christmas trees!

Yummy marshmallow dessert with passionfruit and lychee - someone please make this for me! KTHX

ZOMG Candy cane macarons!

Anyway, I couldn't resist and went out and bought the mag (along with a few others) after work. Going to veg out in bed now and read them all. Night!

Weekend in a glance - Scorching heat and ice cream are best friends

Received my beautiful Camilla and Marc Viola dress on Friday from My Catwalk, such speedy delivery! It came with a super cute box and a little something to get through the day:

Guylian choccies!!

Floaty layers galore - C&M Viola, the straps are a bit too long though, so have to wear a slip or singlet underneath since taking them up would make the dress too short I think.

First picture of my new bag - love!

From the David Jones 40% off designer shoes sale:

Miu Miu jewelled sandals

I'm such a magpie when it comes to these things - attracted to anything sparkly and shiny

I'm not sure how I even managed to squeeze any shopping in due to the searing heat and humidity on Sunday. It was absolutely crazy! Fine in the shopping centres, but deadly when stepping outside in between stores.

What better way to cool off than with icecream? Especially at Passionflower!

It always seems to be busy, and staff basically need to be frantically waved down if you want to order or pay your bill sometimes this century.

Geisha-san: two scoops of lychee icecream with a scoop of green tea icecream and a fruit salad of lychee and orange, great refreshing choice for the hot weather!

A glance at their website shows that they have Cherry Blossom flavour now! I totally missed this when I was there, unless it JUST came out. I'm curious and want to try!

China Glaze review - Rain Storm, Caribbean Temptation & Outrageous

I've been slowly getting through my Pronail haul and have found a new favourite among the China Glaze polishes.
China Glaze Rain Storm - I was quite excited about getting this one as it looked like such a pretty blue in the bottle, but it was quite disappointing when I put it on. The colour is quite thin, and it took me about 3 coats to get the colour shown in the above picture. Not liking this one at all.

Caribbean Temptation - a vivid fuchsia with purple pearl - very pretty in real life, the picture doesn't quite do it justice!
And this is my new favourite polish for the moment...

Outrageous - such a gorgeous bright coral/watermelon colour, so perfect for this summer weather! I love it so so much. I've had it on all weekend without chipping, peeling or anything. It's still 100% perfect!

Finally caved in and bought this gorgeous dress off My Catwalk

Couldn't resist with the 30% off, and free shipping!

Camilla and Marc are having a warehouse sale soon, so there's a chance that I'll probably find my dress there for cheaper, but oh well! I'm extremely impatient. I won't be in Sydney that weekend anyway, but I'm attempting to politely force the bf to go for me to hunt down a few dresses. Hopefully it won't be crazy busy!

Lazy weekend

Finally, some perfect weather!

Extremely proud of my random find at Toys R' Us last weekend whilst buying Monopoly, Hello Kitty Pez. So disgustingly cute, I had to have it. Doesn't taste as good as I remember though, probably because I haven't eaten Pez since I was 10.
To City we go. Well actually, Saturday I stupidly wanted to go to Chatswood as I wanted to hunt down a Camilla & Marc dress at the Myer Super Saturday sale. Firstly, I guess I should have checked properly before we went, that they actually STOCKED it, and secondly, I wanted to go somewhere else other than the City because I didn't think the City would have any (or my size) in stock, which they didn't when I looked last week.

Chatswood didn't stock it, and I didn't bother to go look in the City.... until today (when the sale is over!) and they had one in my size. Talk about angry!!! Yes, I am still kicking myself.

Anyway... went off on a bit of a tangent there!

Dinner at Musashi - Mojito

and my massive dinner bento box

Macarons galore!

The Lindt cafe was so so busy!

Clean shiny cup waiting for some chocolate action!

Chocolate goodness

And of course, I received my package with my beautiful Chanel classic flap which I love to pieces! Still getting used to it though, so I'm a bit clumsy with it.

Also bought Super Mario Brothers for the Wii, and it's so much fun! LOVE the multi-player function, it's hilarious!

Chanel Countdown

Will my bag make it by tomorrow? The anticipation is killing me. I keep refreshing this tracking page at least 20 times a day!
