Cream Cafe & Bar - Civic, Canberra

A classy yet casual cafe in the North Quarter section of the Canberra Centre, Cream Cafe & Bar has been around for a few years, and every time I've walked past, it's always been a full house.

They offer a menu with simple cafe fare with a twist, dishes with asian and european influences.

I'm in civic after my MAC Cosmetics shopping expedition and Cream seems like a great option to have a light lunch

I feel like a healthy fresh fruit frappe and Cream has some gorgeous sounding blends.  I pick the Pearberrylicious - pear, mixed berries lychee and apple juice and it's very refreshing.

Pan fried seared scallops on a bed of cauliflower puree, basil oil and micro herbs - this was delicious, especially the cauliflower puree which I couldn't get enough of!

Duck Risotto - duck braised in master stock with shallots, chilli, choy sum and shiitake mushrooms

Oh, scallops! Cauliflower puree goes so well with them, especially if there's some bacon or prosciutto to go with it too =p
