Addicted to Angry Birds

I can't stop playing. Currently up to Stage 4 Level 6 - love the grumpy birds and evil grinning pigs.  It keeps me entertained on the bus trips home from work.

In other news, I'm watching the Oprah show at the moment, and I never knew Keith Urban was Australian... I always thought he was American.  He sounds so strange with the Aussie accent! Actually, all the Aussie accents sound strange on the Oprah show, I think it's cos when you hear it next to an American accent, it sounds so ocker...

Sorry for the 'slow news' day post today, I couldn't be bothered doing a proper post, but still wanted to share these random tidbits floating around in my head.

My weekend

Gah, it's Monday already?! Time just flies over the weekend.  Saturday was a really nice day and I took the opportunity to soak it up and head to the Eveleigh markets in the morning.

Weekend outfit - super comfy floral playsuit from Dotti

Breakfast at the markets - ham, cheese & mushroom blini from this super friendly couple's stall at Eveleigh

I couldn't resist picking up some super sweet strawberries and some Gumnut chocolates! I wanted some biscotti and shortbread but unfortunately they weren't there this week. Damn.

As always I couldn't resist a look at the new Westfield, they have these super cool Chrissy decorations up at the moment

Vienna Almonds from The Nut Shop - Haighs was also crazy with the Christmas shopping (already!)

And of course since it was a hot day, I insisted on gelato from Via Del Corso - mine was a very refreshing blood orange

I managed to get part one of my Vogue KK present, and I know what I'm going to get for the second part (need to order it online) so that's a relief!

I'm going home to Canberra this weekend for the Handmade Markets - can't wait!

Flying Fish - Jones Bay Wharf, Sydney

It was such a nice sunny day last Sunday, perfect for a leisurely lunch on Jones Bay Wharf at Flying Fish.

Perfect weather and view, can't ask for much more!

All the wait staff were lovely and friendly - especially our waitress who was very attentive and explained all the dishes very well - I had a hard time choosing my dishes as there were quite a lot of dishes that sounded amazing

Although I don't usually like filling up on bread (less room for delicious food!) I couldn't help but slather on more and more of this delicious butter. Sooo good.

The bread was good, but merely a vessel for that fantastic creamy butter

One of the Flying Fish speciality cocktails - this was very good with blood orange and grapefruit

Hawkesbury river calamari with flat beans, chive flowers, cuttlefish ink & chilli

I have to say I wasn't totally impressed when this dish was brought out, but I tried a bit of the calamari and it was fantastic, so tender and the flavour was spot on.

Seared yellow fin tuna with ruby red grapefruit, sweet crackling
pork & black pepper caramel

I couldn't go past the tuna dish for my entree, even though I was considering the seafood tapas too. I decided to go with the signature tuna dish with the promise of that sweet pork crackling, this dish definitely didn't disappoint.

Pan fried Murray cod with sweet corn veloute, speck,
braised daikon & basil

My main dish and one I really enjoyed - the Murray cod was perfectly cooked with deliciously crispy skin and worked well with all the flavours

Cape grim grass fed tenderloin & braised short rib with orange
& cardamom carrots & burnt onion soubise

Beautifully presented, although I didn't try any as I was too busy enjoying my dish, and wasn't too interested in trying beef at a renowned seafood restaurant

Side salad and hand cut chips

Yummy perfect batons of hand cut goodness <3

Another cocktail - this time with pear and lychee, sorry the names escape me and they don't seem to be on the current wine list that is online at the moment

Even though I was stuffed, I couldn't resist dessert and a coffee

Banana soufflé, coconut praline & lemon semifreddo

The souffle was full of banana flavour and amazingly fluffy, and the creamy yet tart lemon semifreddo really help cut through any richness of the dessert

It was freakin' amazing. Enough said.

Petit fours - which included a lovely peanut butter and jelly truffle on the left, amongst a few other goodies

I loved it - Definitely one to re-visit for a special occasion - I'd love to try the tasting menu!

OPI La Paz-itively Hot!

OPI La Paz-itively Hot is an out there Barbie-esque pink

It's a very 'summer' colour - perfect for the balmy weather we've been having lately.

Now all I need is a hammock on a tropical white sandy beach and a cocktail with a little cheesy decorative umbrella...

Alannah Hill buys from The Strand Christmas VIP night

The Strand had a Christmas shopping night last night, complete with Cointreau cocktails and canapes from Sweet Infinity.

I was there before the cocktails were served, but instead of waiting around, I ducked into Alannah Hill and by the time I got out, the line was monstrous! (this was about 6:30 or so, and it only started at 6:00, people are so quick when it comes to freebies!) so I didn't end up getting a cocktail as I didn't want to line up - they looked really yummy though!

Her Fabulous Life cardi in lilac

There's so many gorgeous items this season - plenty of lilac <3

Quite a heavy cardi with all the metal details and beading

God only knows blouse - love this top! It's a rip off of the Rebecca Taylor petal top that I missed out on a couple of years ago, so when I saw this, I had to have it! Looks better tucked in than in the pic, and it's see through so will need to buy a cami or a nude slip to wear under.

I was keen and wore my new cardi today - luckily the air con is crazy cold so I can pretty much wear cardis all year around

Ulta3 Spring Fling

Another one in the Ulta3 series, this time one of the pastel 'Spring' colours called Spring Fling.

I can safely say that I'm not a fan of this pastel orange colour on me - I took it off after just a day of wearing it which I don't normally do

It goes on quite well and isn't gluggy so it's all good regarding those factors, it's just that I don't think it suits me!

Stockpiling for Winter & Sending my love to Chloe Bee

This post is a tad late, as I've had these goodies for a while now, but I want to thank the fabulous Chloe for CP'ing me these following pretty items:

Cute bow belts from Dotti for something ridiculously cheap like $5! <3

Mimco headband

And also a lovely Forever New dress which I don't have a picture of yet.

I've also been stockpiling some sale items for next Winter, as I've had my eye on a few things all season, but couldn't justify the prices

Alannah Hill coat

Bow buttons

Ribbon detailing on pockets

Back of the coat

Alannah stuff is pretty much similar each season, so I'm pretty happy as I love this coat and it was quite cheap!

China Glaze Devotion

This isn't my usual choice of nail polish colour, as I'm usually attracted to the bright pinks, lilac and reds, but sometimes you just feel like wearing something a bit different, or edgier.

China Glaze Devotion - one I've had for a while, bought on one of my buying sprees at Pronail

A metallic silver colour

It reminds me a bit of foil actually..

Ulta3 Earl Grey

After reading about all the hype surrounding this polish in Ulta3's new collection, I knew I had to get my hands on it!

A beautiful creamy light grey colour - and the name just happens to be one of my favourite teas!

It took quite a bit of rummaging through a few nail polish bins to locate this lone bottle of Earl Grey, it must be popular!

A nice neutral colour

Exploring Shanghai

Walking through Shanghai is such a mish mash of new and old - skyscrapers, the hustle and bustle of the city, living amongst the historical buildings now plastered with neon signs flashing with technology advertisements and designer brands.

Nanjing road is a prime example of this

I always seem to get sidetracked by the sights and smells of food! I love watching the shop fronts make food, they are always so fast and efficient.

My last day in Shanghai and it was rain and thunderstorms, luckily I managed not to get wet as I was indoors during most of the rain and it ended up clearing up

This is pretty much the last of my holiday posts, so apologies if I have been boring you with all these China posts!
