China Glaze Haul & B-girlz swatch

This is officially my last nail polish for a while... I have enough to last for the next 1000 years or so, it's definitely time to control myself!

This is from one time where I had 20 minutes to spare after a team meeting across the road from Pronail in Bankstown. Damn my self control.

This is B-girlz on - it's quite sheer so it needs 3 coats to be opaque looking

Craft and Quilt Fair - Sydney Convention Centre, Darling Harbour

So I went with my mum to the Craft and Quilt fair over the weekend, and it was great. I've been to the Canberra one before, but the Sydney one is definitely bigger and better - with a lot more stalls that are only in Sydney.

They had this Babushka doll stall there, with the cutest hand painted dolls! I bought these two

I love them!

I also bought some cuffs at 50% off:

This was my favourite stall at the craft fair hands down - Pitt Trading, it sold all these vintage trims, flowers, lace, fabrics and all things pretty

I bought two of these, was thinking of putting them on a plain black tee as shoulder embellishments

When I bought this, the only one was left on the mannequin, which I kindly took off their hands too

Will turn nicely into the front of a belt :)

Can't wait to think up some ways to use these all!

China Glaze Crackle in Crushed Candy swatch

I'm on a bit of a crackle binge at the moment - I'm trying them all out...

I haven't quite mastered this China Glaze one though - it doesn't 'crackle' as well as some of the other ones I've tried

I know, I have too much Alannah Hill...

I need to stop walking into this shop and getting sucked in by all the pretty dresses, frills, lace bows and what not.

My mum actually bought me this one - a dusty lilac t-shirt with black lace trims, not sure the name of this one...

In blush - so comfy and cute!

The ones that didn't make the cut:

*I'm posing like a douche because most of these dresses are faulty (ie: cheap!) so dressmaking mum FTW! :)

China Glaze Agent Lavender and LaRosa Cosmetics Magenta Crackle Shatter swatches

I think I've mentioned that my favourite colour is purple - especially lilac/lavender so I tend to toward to gravitate toward these colours when I'm out shopping. It doesn't help that there has been heaps of pretty lilac colours out lately so it's getting a bit ridiculous as it's all I seem to buy.

This nail polish was no exception.

A very pretty light lavender by China Glaze

This is with 2 coats - I love how opaque it is, and it is very matte looking too

I also tested out this new magenta crackle polish I bought too, I'm not 100% sure of the brand, it's called Crackle Shatter nail lacquer in Magenta. I love it! It's so easy to use, and I think I might even prefer to the OPI/China Glaze versions

Very easy to control - thin coats give a 'smaller' shatter and a thicker coats give you bigger gaps and a more dramatic effect. I like the thicker coat look.

The Devonshire - Surry Hills, Sydney

This was definitely a memorable night with the lovely girls vxdollface (+ bf) sugarpuffi & idreaminchoc - previous dinner plans did not work out as our mission to Porteno was aborted when we saw the massive line snaking outside the door when we drove past just after 6pm.

What happened next was a frantic blur of searching on iphones for a place to eat, and what felt like a million 'we are fully booked' phone calls, until we magically got a call back from The Devonshire. It was meant to be!

Mirror, mirror on the wall...

The a-la-carte menu, we went for the degustation option

Salt fish brandade with house made grissini - this dip was amazingly good

Bread with salted butter and honey butter... both were really good, I loved the honey butter!

Confit pear and onion tart fine, gorgonzola and wild rocket

Scallop, squid, celeriac, pomegranate and golden raisins

Bonito, katchumba salad, pakoras, curry sauce and rice foam

This was the alternative dish to the rabbit ravilo - potato gnocchi with pine mushrooms, parmesan and peas

Macleay valley rabbit raviolo, pine mushrooms, tarragon and spinach

Bangalow pork loin and shoulder, pumpkin, prunes and apple

Pineapple pudding, ice cream and soup

Bittersweet chocolate pave, chocolate sorbet and chocolate ice cream

My favourite dish would probably have to be the pork or scallop (though the tart was amazing too!) I found the curry sauce in the bonito to be quite overpowering, and didn't really match well with everything else. Other than that, I really enjoyed all the dishes, and I think the degustation here is excellent value for what you get.

I'll definitely be back for the devonshire creme brulee! I was eyeing it off the a-la-carte menu but unfortunately it wasn't part of the degustation.
