A month or so ago, I was down in Canberra for one night for work. What else is there to do on a Tuesday night, except tick one of the restaurants off my never-ending list of places to try? So off to Rubicon in Griffith it was...
A nice amuse bouche of mini duck arancini - lovely way to start the meal
Pork belly assiette entree -
crisp with chilli lime caramel
truffle and shitake croquette with celeriac remoulade
Rilettes en crute with amontillado jelly
This isn't on the menu anymore but from memory it was a free range duck leg on a bed of broccolini and a potato rosti with various types of mushrooms
Chicken with chestnut and mushroom stuffing, seared scallop, herb gnocchi and parsnip puree
Armagnac jelly with green apple sorbet
Caramelised apple tarte tatin, butterscotch, crème anglaise and vanilla ice cream
A nice spot for a mid-week catch up in Canberra.
