Chat Thai - Westfield, Sydney
I'm a big fan of not lining up for anything, so I was pretty pleased when Chat Thai opened at Westfield. It's one of those easy dining options that never fails to impress.
Being located in Westfield makes it pretty handy for a Thursday night dinner before some late night shopping.
These fresh spring rolls literally seconds after we've ordered and I almost think that they've mistakenly given someone else's dish to our table. Well, it turns out they are just freakishly efficient and can bring out dishes before you've barely even finished ordering!
These fresh spring rolls with smoked fish sausages, chicken and crab with tamarind relish are lovely and an absolute must order in my books.
crying tiger - char grilled beef tenderloin with smoked chilli and tamarind relish
pad thai - stir fried thin rice noodles with chicken, dried shrimps, bean sprouts, garlic and chives in a tamarind and palm sugar sauce
todt mun goong gaeng keaw - fried green curried prawn mousseline, drizzled with pickled plum sauce
This is another one of my favourite entrees.
som dtum thai - a spicy, salty and sweet salad with peanuts and dried shrimps
Red curry with chicken - whenever I have a craving for thai food, this is the dish that always manages to satisfy.
Sticky rice with mango - one of my favourite dessert orders at a thai restaurant, Chat Thai's version consists of a generous serving of sweet mango
Sticky rice with custard - after trying this, I definitely prefer the mango version as this was a little heavy
khanom buaing - sweet thin wafers filled with meringue and threads of candied egg yolk, and sweet and savoury with candied herbs and dried shrimps
