Zumbaron day 2012

Zumbaron day was last Saturday, the 6th of October - an annual macaron event to celebrate Adriano Zumbo's birthday.

A whopping 62 flavours on offer, including some interesting sounding savoury ones:

 The perfectly crispy fried chicken

Pork belly macaron in a bun

Pork belly macaron inside - totally reminded me of a chinese pork bun

Duck pancake - thought the presentation of this was very clever

Musk - enjoyed this one very much, the flavour was exactly like eating musk sticks, though the macaron version is more subtle

Kimchi macaron - this one was an interesting one, you could definitely tell that it was kimchi, though it was more savoury rather than spicy

 Carrot cake

 Blue cheese

Palm sugar and coconut - another lovely flavour

 Peanut caramel

 Pecan danish

 Raspberry shortcake

Toasted marshmallow

There were so many good flavours, it was hard to pick a favourite!

Oh your so lucky you got to go and grab a 'handful' of macarons to try. Very jealous. I am very curious about the fried chicken!

So many macs! The fried chicken sounded like a crowd favourite, but I have to say the pork belly bun looks a little scary! lol

Food is my religion - fried chicken was literally just that! I thought it was more like a canape than a macaron :)

Helen - It does, doesn't it? With all the bright red inside!!

Tina - Haha, always expect weird flavours with Zumbo

Malin - thanks :)
