The Grounds is an impressive place, with the cafe surrounded by beautiful gardens bursting with pretty flowers, vegetables and herbs. Even though there is a thirty minute wait on a Saturday morning, the time passes quickly as we go for a wander through the area.
Fresh fruit and lemonade for sale. There was also another outside stall selling bacon and egg rolls, which was a teaser to the breakfast to come.
The Grounds is such a lovely spot and there is plenty of room in the outdoor area to soak up the sunshine with a takeaway coffee.
The wait system is wander friendly as you are issued with a buzzer that has a 200 metre radius, we even went next door to Salt Meats Cheese to have a quick browse.
Lemon myrtle mushrooms - shimeji, enoki, baby button and woody mushrooms in The Grounds lemon myrtle butter with a fried egg on brioche
A must order for the mushroom lovers, this is such a lovely mix with the subtle fragrance of lemon myrtle.
The Grounds Breakfast board
double smoked ham, avocado, fresh heirloom tomatoes, Persian feta, two poached eggs, house made pesto and toasted sourdough
The board was a nice way of sampling the beautiful produce that The Grounds has to offer. Very simple and fresh flavours.
Cute coffee illustrations to help you order
Cold drip of the day
The tempting cake display, greeting you as you walk into the dining area
I couldn't resist trying out this gorgeous, tangy passionfruit tart.
Sunshine, coffee and good food - a great way to start a weekend off!
