The Porch Cafe - Crows Nest, Sydney

The Porch Cafe is a cute little brunch spot in Crows Nest. We stopped past for a bite to eat one weekend, after scoping out some wedding reception places on the north side.

Enquired at a dozen or so places and after a few (many!) bouts of indecisiveness, ended up choosing the place we had first looked it. Funny how it works out! (though you can't really beat the gorgeous views and venue at Sergeants Mess)

The Porch menu

The menu has some interesting and healthy offerings as well as the usual suspects.

Macchiato

A much needed coffee hit after getting up way too early for a weekend.

Crunchy brioche french toast

with berries, mascarpone and maple

Corn fritters

With bacon, avocado, corn, salsa and micro cress

Both the dishes were very tasty with generous servings. The flower garnishes added a pretty touch too.

A lovely little cafe to add to the brunch list when over Crows Nest way.

I had a really bad experience here back in February with a bad case of fruit flies but it's seems pretty good now - will have to go back and try out the corn fritters!
