I don't think the small town (Canberra) side of me will ever stop being amazed at how many endless cool new places and suburbs that there are to visit in Sydney and the surrounds. My never ending list of things to do just keeps getting longer.
One of the places that has been on my to visit list has been The Tuckshop in Glenhaven. Not really a convenient location, but it was a good excuse to swing past one arvo for lunch, after a trip to Bilpin.
The Tuckshop menu
It's a lovely little casual setting, and you really get feel of a contemporary tuck shop. There's plenty of outdoor seating to soak up the sun.
The coffees here is tops, and is a much needed caffeine hit after a 'laborious' morning of apple picking.
The breakfast box consists of sticky roasted pumpkin, boiled egg, blue lentils, avocado, raw veg and sprout salad, sauerkraut, toasted seeds and tahini seeds.
This sounded great on paper, but turned out quite disappointing when the order arrived. The portion is small, especially when promised roasted pumpkin and only presented with a tiny wedge of it.
Definitely should have ordered the famous cheeseburger instead.
A roll packed full of prawns with Sriracha, creamy kewpie mayo and avocado; served with old bay fries.
Very much enjoyed my coffee and the prawn roll here, but would give the breakfast box a miss (I think I'll stick to Aboutlife for my salad fix)
I'm definitely ordering the cheeseburger next time!
