Dulcet Cakes & Sweets - Burwood, Sydney

Dulcet in Burwood is the perfect place to get some lovely and delicate cakes that are on the not so sweet side. The variety of cakes include a range of asian flavours, such as matcha and black sesame.

The café is a quick 5 minute walk from Burwood station and there is a handful of seats inside. There's a decent menu of teas, so perfect for sitting in and enjoying a cuppa with your cake.

Strawberry shortcake

I order the strawberry shortcake with a rose tea; the cake is so light and airy, it's hard not to finish it all in two bites. I also order the peach earl grey mousse to takeaway. Unfortunately they were out of the matcha mille crepé which looked really good (next time!). The cakes were both enjoyable; very lovely and light.

Peach earl grey mousse

I definitely need to visit Burwood more often, there's so much great food to be had. I'll definitely be back to try the mille crepé cake.

Mango and coconut sago cake

Rose Oolong iced tea

 Matcha affogato

Unfortunately I still haven't spotted the mille crepé cake even though I've re-visited Dulcet a couple of times since my initial post. Never mind though, the other cakes I've tried such as the mango with coconut sago are very good. I like that Dulcet's cakes are light and not too sweet.

The rose oolong tea has a lovely fragrant rose scent and is so refreshing on a hot day. The matcha affogato seems to be a popular order, however I feel like it is way overpriced ($10.40 from memory).
